Elderly mother charged £120 in a month for local calls

Please please can someone help? My mum is 81 years old and is registered disabled. She recently changed her home phone provider from Plusnet to Sky and although making calls to other landlines has been charged £120 for one month of calls. She didn't realise that the call package was different and is extremely upset as she feels so stupid. Sky customer services won't do anything to help her and there is a clear language barrier on a lot of the calls. Please could someone suggest how I can ask Sky for help in removing this charge that she cannot afford? Thanks

@Jo384

Your post suggests she has made these calls so Sky have correctly applied the charges. Not sure why you think you can persuade Sky to withdraw the charges.

The default tariff is Sky Pay As You Talk whereby all calls are chargeable except freephone numbers and calls to Sky.

She perhaps needs to change tariff to include the types of calls she makes although they'll be a monthly charge.

@Jo384 I'm really sorry, but if the charges were correctly assessed in accordance with the subscribed tariff, it's highly unlikely thay Sky would entertain giving a refund, regardless of how you request it.
