Early termination charges

I have tonight recived an early termination fee notification email from SKY regarding SKY 1GB Broadband. I am a little frustraed at this. I had a phone conversation with a sky representative a few weeks ago when i asked regarding the new price increase. I stated i would like to leave due to the price increase in my broadband service. The operative agreed i could leave without termination fees, (As Martin Lewis stated and mony other have is possible)I duely have done. I have now recived this email stating i owe £109.

I am aware this phone conversation will be recorded so I am not too worried. Come on sky do better and get this resolved please.

@ian2512

Since receiving this email have you called Sky again and spoken to them, try using the number shown on the price rise email or letter.

Re: Early termination charges

@ian2512 Since speaking to sky which i did the same as you to get the ball rolling for a move to Vodafone, e-mail conformation was sent, and in the account My Messages, Inbox 1 doc and the Documents Folder 1 doc also same date for me 6th March. That laid out all the terms and conditions for the move to a new provider, may be worth having a look if you have them in the same area.

Left it two day's and then did the OTS switch and ensured sky got the notifications. all on the 9th...

But the price with vodaphone will only last a year and then they will apply a annual price increase. I know they will because I am with them for mobile and unlike Sky they tell you what the increase  will be  next April when you start your contract this year and also the increase the following year if you have two year term. In that way they insure you can not cancel  with a termination fee because of these increase are part of your contract.

Re: Early termination charges

@DaveDrizen And vodafone informs you also so there is only one increase in the period before you move on and sky don't like to play ball apart from sign up again with the same offer at an extra 12 months, but correct you are tied in, not that i care moved away from EE 11 months into the 24 period, just had enough off those clowns!
