DIRECT DEBIT

HI   I cancelled my contract with sky last march and they sent me a box to return the broadband box and told me my settlement would be taken out the following month so do not cancel the direct debit. I have now found out that they continued to take direct debits every month and when i phoned up and asked about this they said my new provider should have informed them they had taken over. I mean is that real i already cancelled and sent their equipment back and sky aknowleded its return so is this just sky trying to get out of refunding me as they owe me 10 months

@AHOUGH10

If you transfered to a new broadband provider then your new provider should have told Sky especially if they like Sky are on the Openreach network. If this was last Match then companies like Virgin might not have done this back then although they should do now.

This does not happen for TV services,
