Credit on account refund

I paid manually this month for a bill of £94. I was 99% sure my direct debit was cancelled as I did it last month as I like to pay manually so I know what's what. Turns out it wasn't cancelled and sky took another £94 out my bank a few days later. Leaving my account £94 in credit (as I manually paid the bill a few days earlier on). I rung sky on Christmas Day 25th, and a lady told me my refund will be back in my bank 3-5 working days. It doesn't say on my sky account anywhere though that this refund has been processed and still says £94 in credit. It's now Sunday December 28th, so I'm expecting it to be in my bank next week some time. But not seeing anywhere on my SKY account it's been issued or processed is concerning. Has anyone experienced anything similar or do I ring up on Monday morning to see what's happening ??

@Tegs96  Refunds are processed on working days so will be Monday at the very earliest before it even gets processed within Sky's billing systems.

@Tegs96

The T's and C's you agreed to state you should have a direct debit or continuous card payment method set up. You therefore never need to make a manual payment. Sky will still use your Direct Debit details they have on record for your account. Once the planned payment that Sky are expecting has been processed a credit should appear on your Sky account for the amount you have overpaid.

This should automatically be used to pay your next bill so on that bill date no/less money should be taken from your account. I would suggest NOT making ANY manual payments at all unless requested to by Sky.

@Tegs96

There would be little point ringing tomorrow as it is then it will be day one for the refund so it is still within the quoted 3 - 5 days for it to be refunded this is due to the Christmas and Boxing Day holidays and also due to the weekend which do not count as a working day and neither does New years Day.

As stated above you should not have cancelled your Direct debit as the T&Cs do state you must have something like this setup on your account.
