Charged despite switch?

How do payments work in Sky? Is it pay for upcoming month or the last month? I switched to another provider from Sky because of terrible service and was on support chat about it and I have been told that I WILL NOT be charged yet today I got charged for my broadband again despite my contract ending tomorrow and I have another provider coming today for installation. Why do I have to pay for my broadband again if my contract ends tomorrow??

@Kapusta88

You are still a Sky customer until tomorrow and that bill was generated 14 days before the payment date.

Any reimbursement due will take approximately 6 weeks so leave the payment method active to allow that.

You are charged right up to your final day so after you have left you should then see this amount on yiur account as a credit so if you post back on what will have been your next billing date when the credit shows we can help you to get it refunded via here.

Billing is monthly in advance - you are charged past your cessation date if the bill is generated as normal whilst still a customer.

However, when the next bill is generated it will recognise the overpayment (to the day) and generate a credit on your account.

That credit would normally be returned within 6 weeks but once the credit is showing you may wish to give Sky a nudge...

Re: Charged despite switch?

So today I paid for this month until 6th October. Am I gonna get charged again on that day? How are they gonna give me my money back if I am not gonna be a Sky customer? I am really confused why they would charge me in the first place if I told them week ago that I will be switching providers and the Switch site and provider were supposed to take care of this...

You should not be charged anymore.

Once you have left, you should see a credit on your account.

When you see the credit on what will have been your next billing date post back here as we can arrange some help to get the credit refunded back to you.
