Change of payment method - how quickly does it take effect?

I changed the account details that my direct debit for Sky broadband is due to come out of today. My first payment is due on the 23rd of this month. Is the account change instant, or do I need to worry about the payment for this month still being taken from the old account?

Changes to payment details aren't instant, I'm afraid. It's highly likely that the direct debit for 23rd is already being processed, so will come from your old account. I'd keep an eye on your accounts with both banks.

It's worth pointing out …

 

Bills for Sky Q, Sky+, and Sky Broadband/Talk are generated 14 days before your payment date.

 

Bills for Sky Mobile, Sky Glass and Stream are generated 3 days beforehand.
