Cancelled Sky TV - what should I replace it with?
So I've taken the plunge and cancelled my Sky TV subscription. For reason I won't go into, we only watch the 5 main free to view channels so paying for Sky seems a waste (apart from the ability to record on Sky Q). I've been looking at a Manhattan Freesat recorder and just wondered what others have done after taking the leap from Sky?
Thanks.

Hi @Citylady33 Just remember that you need a 4K Freesat box to work with your wideband Sky Q LNB. Normal (HD) Freesat boxes don't work.

If that's all you watch then Freeview or perhaps Freely would suffice along with their respective catch-up apps.

Thanks. Yes, I'm looking at the Manhattan S-4R recorder which seems to do the job.

That should be compatible with a Q LNB
Perhaps keep in mind that Freesat probably has less than four years of future life: it will end alongside Sky transmission from orbit if the Astra 28.2E satellites aren't replaced.
