Canceling once out of contract

Hi all, my 18 month contract ends in November (oddly my Internet and TV packages end on different days despite taking them out at the same time) I do not wish to continue with the service after the contract ends as the cost nearly doubles. How do I go about making sure the service is stopped after my contract ends? I tried to call to ask somebody but there's an hours wait time on the phone. Thanks in advance.

Contact Sky 31 days before your TV contract ends and give notice to cancel. Do the same for broadband but only 2 weeks notice is required.

 

Alternatively give Sky a call and negotiate a new discounted deal for the next 18 months. 

 

If you're planning on switching to another provider for broadband don't  contact Sky to cancel (unless you're switching to Virgin). Instead sign up with a new provider and they'll arrange for the service to be transferred to you.

 

Note that if you cancel, ypu'll still be billed in advance as usual, but Sky will refund any overpayment from the date your notice period expires.

To cancel all of your TV subscription, if you’re out of contract you’ll need to give Sky the required 31 days notice. 

Select ‘Need more help’ at the bottom of the following link which will lead to contact details.
https://www.sky.com/help/articles/cancel-sky-tv#contact-leave
(Make sure the flag in the bottom right corner is the correct one ie; UK or ROI).
UK customer ~ The link may include an email link and also a Message Us option (which is normally available between 9am and 7.30pm).
ROI customer ~ it’s only by calling Sky Ireland or writing in.

If you cancel correctly you should receive a confirmation email from Sky.

If you’re cancelling Sky Q totally don’t forget to keep you proof of posting indefinitely when you return the box(es). Return packaging will be sent out towards the end of your notice period.

You have to contact sky if you are going to a fibre to the property provider as they aren't taking over the copper phone line.  If you don't they'll keep charging you
