How did you cancel it?

Did Sky send you an email acknowledging the cancellation?

Likely because you are billed as normal during your 1 month notice period.

I am just another Sky customer and my views are my own even if you don't like the answers

Billing doesn't stop just because you have given notice to leave as it continues right up the day your services are cancelled so any overpayment can then be refunded to you.
