£68.92 Balance carried forward

Hi,

I have just spoke to someone at sky that has told me I need to pay £29 for this months bill as I changed to a direct debit I had £39.92 outstanding paid this off and its now showing I have £68.92 as a balance to be carried forward. What does this mean that this amount will be used for my next months pay I am confused as it doesn't really explain on the billing page on the app.
