£60 to cancel sky sports after in contract price rise

I have just been told that Sky will change me £,60 to cancel my sky sports package even after that they have increased the price in contact. Is this right?

@DJP4

Early termination charges apply to TV subscriptions. Only broadband allows early termination penalty free after the annual price rise.

If you are in the minimum term of a contract then you can not usually cancel as you agreed to keep the package for a set period of time. As they have let you then they are within their rights to charge you an early termination fee. A price increase is allowed under the T&Cs you agreed to. The price you pay is not set during the contract but the discount, so 20% off etc is.

...the contract also allows a charge for removing a premium channel (regardless of whether in a minimum term or not)
