No Phone after full fibre upgrade

Sky engineers have just upgraded my system to Full Fibre.

Phone now connected to router.

Phone has dialling tone but after dialling a number I just get out of service tone.

Dialling from my mobile to my landline phone  the phone does not ring.

Engineers say ther is a problem with the phones and should work after a week or so.

Please tell me what the problem is as lots of people phone my landline every day.

I can't be out of touch for a week or so.

Please advise

regards

@Bob+Weeks

'a week or so' seems unlikely, but there have certainly been posts about the Talk service not working on the day of FTTP activation.

Unfortunately there are inherent risks with transitioning to FTTP, and domestic ISPs typically don't make any particular provision for workarounds when problems arise.
