I have a similar noise but not on the main TV which is connected by HDMI. My other TVs are connected by coaxial cable and magic eyes. There is poor connection using the remote via the magic eye on these TVs and is only quite recent. None of the coaxial cables have been changed.

Most likely RF interference from some exrernal source, you could try changing the Sky Boxes & TVs RF channel to a clearer one
See Q38 in my Sky Plus FAQ

Sorry poor wording. The remote control doesn't operate well through the magic eyes since this issue commenced.
