Magic eye not working

Hi, I have two tvs using one sky+ box via a magic eye. The magic eye has stopped working. It has the red LED on and the screen displays the same as the main tv but the remote will not work with the magic eye and I must go to the box to change channels. 
I have replaced the magic eye and still having the same problem. I have tried plugging it directly into the back of the sky box and again the light comes on but no connection with the remote. Any suggestions please! Thanks

Try turning OFF the power for the magic eye in the Sky boxes hidden menu then turning it on again, also check the ends of the coax cable being used as a short can cause issues

Hi, thank you for your reply.

I have set the RF outlet Power supply to OFF turned off the sky box. Then turned everything back on and it still isn't working.

i have also tested two different magic eyes at back of the box.

Try the magic eyes directly connected to RF2 making sure the IR receiver on the front of the box is totally covered

@Anon2002 are you using the same remote to control the box via the magic eye, and directly via the sensor on the front panel?

 

Is there a direct connection between the RF2 socket and the 2nd TV (no amp, splitter etc)?

 

Has any of your setup been disturbed recently?

Both show red light when plugged directly into RF2 but neither work with the remote

Yes same remote

nothing was disturbed the magic eye just stopped working with the remote control. But remote worked with main box so don't think it is a problem with remote. 
direct connection yes but at the minute Im just trying to get it to work at the main box before I try it on second tv again.

I guess you have rebooted the Sky Box, if so it could be RF2 is damaged 😞

I agree with @Annie+UK . At face value, it looks like a fault with your Sky box based on what you've told us.

@Anon2002  I have the same problem that started after a powercut, did you manage to resolve your issue? I've tried everything on all the forums and still can't get the remote's to work?

Is the power LED lit on the magic eye?

 

Do you have any,splitter or amplifier between your Sky box and the magic eye?

Thanks, yes the red lights are on when plugged into tv and also straight into the box.  I have a splitter which I thought was the problem so I replaced this and still no joy.  All cables and connections checked, tried turning the rf off and back on, turning sky off and leaving for a while, can't think of anything else to try?

@IW2018 did you check the function of the magic eye when it was plugged straight into the RF2 socket?
