Well if it's a rental made on your Sky box and you have never pressed play on it - you won't be charged
if it's a buy and keep - you would need to contact the Skystore team to ask for a bit of goodwill as you get charged when you order it

It's a buy and keep but without a dvd.
I haven't watched it and I've locked the 1st film so it can't be watched.
currently on hold trying to speak to someone but the waits around 40 mins 🤦♂️

I've decided not to watch it and cross my fingers.
does anyone know how long it will disappear without watching it?

Sorry to say - that tactic won't work. With a buy and keep - you are charged irrespective of whether or not you watch it
it will never disappear from your list until you leave Sky.
edit: our discussion encouraged me to look at the terms and conditions (sad I know)
it says this
"You cannot cancel your purchase of digital content after the point the content download is scheduled on the Box."
So I'm confident a chat with the Skystore team is your only chance of success
