Unable to Add Sky email address

On my wifes 's new ipad I am unable to add back her sky.com email address.

When initially setup the email account was not working properly and was unable to download messages  and attachments correctly.

As per sky instructions removed the sky account (listed as yahoo) but cannot readd the sky account back in.

In Mail,Accounts ,Add New Account have selected the yahoo option but am taken to the yahoo sign in page .Sign in with sky email address and sky password (as per Sky Instructions) but no Mail Verification is shown just a redirection message which then returns to the signin page again.

No account is being created.

Can someone help out please  as I'm currently in the doghouse!

Try not selecting Yahoo and using these settings:

 

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server

Server - imap.tools.sky.com
Port - 993
Requires SSL - Yes

 

Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server

Server - smtp.tools.sky.com
Port - 465
Requires SSL - Yes
Requires authentication - Yes

 

You might find you get an error message about your password so if you do login here and generate yourself a 16 digit one and use that instead:

 

https://www.sky.com/sky-yahoo-mail/manage-apps?client=email

Thanks for the reply.

I've just picked up on a post from annie64 on Jan 8th with the same problem and your suggested fix.

Will post back when I get this sorted.

Interestingly when I logged in to her account via Skyid   the inbox showed 2 messages from Yahoo indicating 2 recent logins to her sky email account.

So the question is why is the account not showing up in apple mail accounts.

ipad is running ios16.

There are ongoing issues with the default email app on iphones and ipads with Sky email accounts. So something else to try is to make sure your IOS version is up to date.

All fixed a.

My wife and I may need new glasses.

After setting up the Yahoo account for the third time neither of us noticed the very small "save" button on top right of screen .

All now working correctly incuding downloading  messages and attachments.
