Openreach repaired External Fault, is my Q Hub faulty too?

Hi Everybody

For the purposes of this thread I’m rounding up/down all speeds to whole numbers.

I have a guaranteed download speed of 50Mbps, recently my phone stopped working in/out and my Broadband connection to the Q Hub dropped to just 20Mbps down & 3Mbps up using MySky app.

WiFi speed was 18Mbps down and 2Mbps up. I have a Unifi access point for superb WiFi coverage and it was returning the same WiFi speed test results as connecting directly to the Q Hub.

Openreach attended today and repaired the external fault.

Phone working again.

MySky app shows Broadband connection to Q Hub is now 54Mbps down and 20Mbps up, a vast improvement both ways. These figures are confirmed by the Hub control panel - see screenshot.

However, my WiFi download speed is unchanged at 18Mbps either through the Q Hub or my Unifi access point. Upload is vastly improved and now running at 18Mbps too

I’ve also tested with the Unifi access point powered off and disconnected from LAN then reset the Q Hub so it’s the only wireless access point and my iPhone is the only device on the Network and still 18/19Mbps up and down. I’ve also tried with my iPad too in case it’s a problem with my phone.

I’m starting to think that on top of the external fault that Openreach fixed I also have a faulty Q Hub.

Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Openreach repaired External Fault, is my Q Hub faulty too?

I'm now getting 50Mbps through Q Hub and Unifi access point.

Seems the Hub just took a while to upgrade the WiFi.

I didn't realise it wouldn't be possible to zoom attached photos.

Have attached a cropped pic of my control panel. Fingers crossed this is better.
