Can anyone suggest an album or track I can use to test Dolby Atmos sound from my Sky Stream Puc?
I've just set up my new LG C4 Oled 4K 2024 TV. Before connecting my Sky Stream Puc I thought I'd first test the Dolby Atmos sound on the TV. So I accessed a Dolby Atmos Speaker Signal Test album from the LG Apple Music app and was delighted that the TV was handling Dolby Atmos just fine.
So then I connected and set up my Sky Stream Puc. Given that I now subscribe to Sky UHD / Dolby Atmos I was quite excited to experience UHD / Dolby Atmos through the Puc. I couldn't find Apple Music on Sky, and I'd read that Sky didn't stream Amazon Music Unlimited in Dolby Atmos (a disappointment), but I did find a suitable test album on Spotify and played that. Sadly there was no Dolby Atmos separation from the TV speakers. I then tried every combination of sound settings on the Sky Stream Puc, but with no success.
At this point I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Is the problem that Sky doesn't stream Spotify in Dolby Atmos either?
Can anyone suggest an album or track from Sky Stream that I can use to test for certain whether I'm able to get Dolby Atmos streamed from my Puc.
I've now read the many, many threads on Sky Stream Dolby Atmos problems, and the many suggested combinations of settings which might work (but apparently don't). I'm getting a sinking feeling that my investment in a new UHD TV in order to be able to enjoy not just UHD from Sky, but also Dolby Atmos, might not be achievable in reality.
Incidentally, although the sound from the TV is excellent when I watch a programme from a native LG app, the sound is awful when I watch the same programme through the Sky Stream Puc, no matter which combination of sound settings I try (and this includes resetting and resetting u

Only certain content on Sky Stream is encoded with Dolby Atmos. Some live sports on the live UHD Sky Sports channel stream with Atmos, but the bulk of Sky's Atmos content is drama and movies. Try an episode of Day of the Jackal or The Penguin in UHD, these have Atmos. Many Sky Cinema movies (if you subscribe) also have Atmos.
If you have Netflix Premium, Disney+ or Apple TV+ you can also stream content in Dolby Atmos. The individual programme or movie page on each of these services will show a Dolby Atmos logo beside shows/movies which carry the format.
Also, make sure your puck's audio output settings are set to Auto or Passthrough - this will allow Atmos to pass to your TV where it will be decoded.
Be aware that the effect of Dolby Atmos can vary quite dramatically, depending on your audio setup. Just because a show or movie has Dolby Atmos doesn't mean that it will sound hugely different to a stereo or 5.1 mix of the same thing. It depends entirely on your amplification and speaker setup, which, if in your case is just a TV, it's unlikely to blow you away.
True Dolby Atmos requires multiple speakers around your listening environment, in front, to the rear and above, along with a subwoofer.
AFAIK the Spotify app on Sky Stream will not stream Atmos - it is quite a basic version of the app as the puck is not really intended as a high-end audio device, it's for receiving Sky services first and foremost.
Apps built in to your TV are always going to be optimised to bring out the best in the TV so you may not be able to achieve a similar result from a Sky Stream puck, but have a play around with settings and you may get close.

Sky has lots of On Demand content in Atmos if you do a search. With regards to music apps such as Spotify, it's up to Spotify etc to update their apps to enable Atmos Audio which Spotify are notoriously slow at. It took them years to make video available on large screen apps when it was available on most mobile devices via their app.
