Discussion topic: no satellite signal , it was off then came back for 24 hours and gone off again .

no satellite signal , it was off then came back for 24 hours and gone off again .

no satalite signall , i had an engineers visist booked but it cam back on for 24 hours and it has just gone off agin . i have rebooted it , and checked the wifi . still no signal .

I have moved your post from the Broadband board as it's not a BB issue. As you've successfully managed to arrange an engineer you must have Sky Q.


If you are seeing a message of “no satellite signal” firstly check that the connections from the Sky dish going into the back of your Sky Q box are still finger tight. Otherwise it’s likely to be a dish alignment issue so check the troubleshooting in this link

Hopefully you didn’t cancel the engineer.

 

It’s worth noting that:

1 - a misalignment is not necessarily something that will be visible to the naked eye and could only affect one or two channels and

2 - a Sky Q box requires a periodic 'Keep alive' signal that is delivered via the satellite so if that isn’t received the box will close down until the satellite signal is restored.
