Because you're not a new customer.  Attracting new customers is harder than keeping existing ones (point in case).

Realistically you won't get an offer near the new customer price.  If you don't believe it's value then consider switching...

All providers do this now. You should have benefited from a new customer discount 26 years ago and if you choose to leave and move to a different provider the same will happen in 18/24 months time with them ~ at which point you can rejoin Sky and get a new customer deal again.

Hi @Sharon148   Did you not get a new customer deal when you joined? All providers offer new customer deals to attract new customers. The only way to get a better deal is to change providers every 12/18/24 months. Just like car insurance to avoid the loyalty tax.

Haggle. We all have to do it if you don't want to pay full price. I did for every Q contract I had & always got it down in price.
Deals are harder to come by these days but have a figure in mind of what you think the service is worth to you. If Sky can't come close to it then leave. There are plenty of other TV service providers.

We have haggled with retention & we have knocked £40 from the April price hike & had refund for £30 for next 2 months so feeling very pleased 🤩
