It was very intermittent at first but gradually got worse until a few days ago became unwatchable. We could still watch BBC1 via terrestrial Tv. Also tried a different TV which also had the pixelation so we know the Tv is ok.

No error messages, seems to be just BBC1 and BBC2, and possibly a little bit on some of the sky channels. I'm writing this on behalf of my elderly parents whom I do not live with.
They need to also check the cables going to the TV haven't worked loose. I take it they aren't on a communal dish set up?

Perhaps they need to see if neighbours are having the same issue and then report the matter to the landlord or building management company. Management are responsible for contacting an engineer should one be required.

I went in today and spoke with the retirement village staff, they told me yesterday a sky enginer came in and played with the software and is coming back tomorrow to do something with the dish. it appears other people were also having the same problem. Fingers crossed. thanks
