Member review: First Man

Executive Producer

We all know who Neil Armstrong is & why he is famous. First Man tells us how he got there.

Based on the book by James R. Hansen, this is not only a film about the space race or about landing on the moon, but this is also a very human story, showing us how the family copes when the husband & father has such a demanding and dangerous career.

Ryan Gosling teams up with his La La Land Oscar®-winning director Damien Chazelle, for a thrilling & epic Universal Pictures’ film that literally puts you in the seat (and on the edge of it) of planes & spacecraft to show us how it feels from the astronaut's point of view.

“Damien Chazelle’s gripping Neil Armstrong biopic is an inspiration”

Written by Academy Award® winner Josh Singer (Spotlight), First Man has plenty of breathtakingly, scary moments when things don't go according to plan. Gosling plays Armstrong in an understated manner that is very effective and is backed up by a stellar cast. The film itself has a wonderful 1960's look to it.

Having had an interest in space exploration since I was at junior school, I absolutely loved this film, everything about it was spot on. It would make a brilliant double-bill with The Right Stuff.

First Man is now available to Buy & Keep on Sky Store.
