.... you see Christmas films on the TV schedule. 🙄

This actually reminds me of my time working at Sainsbury's ( other supermarkets are available ). The first week of September was always when Christmas items would start to appear, slowly at first but they soon gained momentum. It was sort of draining having to endure a 4-month Christmas period.

I cannot stand Christmas. It's crass commercialism at it's worst.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWe love Christmas. Wonderful time of the year and always no matter what timne of year looking forward to or planning for it in some way.
In the shops, its a bit strange to have all the decorations out so early. Would never really Myself think about buying any decorations or cards till November. Mind, do buy plenty of presents throughout the year.
As for being on TV.
Does not really bother me them being on. But do think they must be popular out of season to be put on the channels. Or there maybe could be a case for many of the films, that they are just bought by the channels as cheaper filler package.
Its been there for many years and its not hard to just ignore those channels or rails.
Do love a good classic Christmas movie, basically anything related to Dickens Scrooge from the 30s//50s/70s/80s and the 90s Muppet version. Love also the likes of Christmas Vacation, Jingle all the Way, Miracle on 34th Street (all the classic versions), Deck the Halls. The Snowman and Father Christmas by Raymond Biggs. But would only watch them over the Christmas weeks.
Did enjoy the first Christmas Chronicles on Netflix, but the second was poor.
Certainly do not watch all those soppy romancy ones though.

@LGUser So for you, watching an average 'daytime' Christmas movie, in SD, on a +1 channel... would be your worst nightmare... ? 🙂😉

@PATV+Scunthorpe Yay, Christmas songs as well. When I left Sainsbury's ( who didn't play music in the shop when I worked there ) & moved to Morrisons ( who did play music ) it meant I got to listen to all the Christmas hits from about October onwards, which was nice.
Got Trace on now & it's showing Christina Aguilera & Brian McKnight singing Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, which I don't think I've ever heard.

The two best Christmas movies are...
A Muppets Christmas Carol and A Chrstmas Story.

Can you provide proof?
Without it, you perhaps should have mentioned that they are best in your opinion.

@GuybrushThreepw Now, now boys, let's keep it civil, it is Christmas after all. 🤣 Anyway, it's not only @LGUser's opinion, as I would have to agree. Really glad to see A Christmas Story mentioned as it's a gem of a film that tends to get overlooked. It's an annual favourite in our household.
Can't believe that I have inadvertently started a Christmas thread.

@PATV+Scunthorpe Right after Christina was on, they had Mariah Carey singing a Christmas hymn with her Mother, who is an opera singer, something else I had never heard before. I'm a big fan of Christina and Mariah but those two songs have passed me by somehow. So thanks for your post as without it I would have missed those two videos.

And it's even easier to watch as it's on Disney+ in UHD/HDR.
