Not sure how you can be familiar with his reporting style when you admit you immediately switch him off.
Why does someone always try to get into an argument on here? I make a comment about why a presenter might not be on air, and you have to come along and **bleep** him off. Your opinion of Ian King is nothing to do with this thread - the discussion is why he's been off-air for a month.

The reporting style is why I turn him off. As I said everyone is entitled to their opinions on a particular presenter on any TV programme. Only time will tell as to whether he returns or an announcement is made as to the reason for his absence.

But you said that you're not interested in business news, so his reporting style is rather irrelevant to you is it not, as you turn him off as soon as you see him on screen?
I think you're just after an argument to be honest.

OK, so if it's not a funding/studio location issue, what's your explanation as to where he's disappeared to?
No, I was agreeing with you. My point was it could quite easily be a legitimate attempt to cut a Sky Group budget if there was previously a cost-sharing arrangement for Fleet Place: Sky executives aren't required to justify how NBCU spends its dollars, but particularly in News are likely to have to fight for every penny of their own.
For CNBC it's overseas spending wherever the studio is in the UK: for Sky it could look like unnecessary duplication when there's a huge production complex in Isleworth.
That's the kind of in-house corporate shenanigans which is famously common.

Yes, been wondering the same thing - where is Ian King? He's the best financial commentator, far better than BBC's very poor coverage. Maybe he's ill and they're not saying.😏

The point is that normal broadcasters would say why such an important figure was absent. It's the very obvious silence that says most. Also it's proof of Ian King's popularity - and it just with financial people. I am 78 and have learned more about the financial world through him than I have in the last 50 years. And I'm not alone.
His replacement is awful - he looks half asleep and unshaven - as if he's just got out of bed. The money slot has totally lost its magnet. 🥺

Really miss Ian King.Gyrating between Hong Kong and Singapore,he is our top business link to UK.It would be nice to know! The journey from The City to Osterley(in Middlesex,NOT London)is not viable for those in the City.Ian King should be reinstated asap.Darren McCaffrey is,frankly, out of his depth and the viewing figures will reflect this,I'm sure. Please,we need an answer.

So Daniel, if you're not interested in business or Ian King, why on earth did you comment here??

It's possible they moved the business studio from the CNBC building as CNBC from next year will not be part of NBCU/Comcast.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreHe still has Sky in his social media Twitter handle (IanKingSky) and today he shared a column just published in The Times by him, and at the bottom, they "Ian King is a Sky News Business Presenter"

"Ian King is a Sky News Business Presenter".
Except he now patently isn't!
Also DMcC is now openly referred to as their "Business Presenter" by his presenter colleagues if you notice.

If unhappy with how the times has credited a contributor to their publication, any complaint should be directed at the times.

I'd also like to comment on the lack of Ian king , it's was very informative to hear him and his guests disscusing business news usually with a broad spectrum of businesses and ones based in the uk . It was more informative as to the state of the country than the main news . Now it just seems to be very broad and very American . A great loss in my opinion
