Re: The Offer

I see that the brilliant drama mini-series, The Offer, is being shown on ITV4 starting next Sunday at 9.40 pm. We saw this last year, I think on a different platform ( I see it was made for Paramount+, so it may be available on there too ). It tells the story of the making of The Godfather. It has a fantastic cast, Matthew Goode is brilliant as producer Robert Evans. If you've ever seen the Robert Evans documentary on Sky Documentaries, The Kid Stays In The Picture ( which is also brilliant ), you'll see that Matthew has him down to a T.

I can thoroughly recommend The Offer if you're interested in either films or The Godfather in particular.

Thanks for this @Mr+Ripley

I've moved your post into this thread, so more people can see it. Appreciate the recommendation, and will have a  look 🙂

Thanks

Re: IT - Welcome To Derry

I thought I would mention that IT - Welcome To Derry is available from On Demand in UHD HDR.

@Daniel0210  Okay, I've edited my post from today, so it's all sorted. Sorry for the confusion. If someone wants to remove the posts 78, 79, 80 & this one to tidy this thread up, that's fine with me.

Black Rabbit

We finished watching this on Netflix last night, absolutely loved it,  brilliant show. If you like a gritty thriller, then this is for you. It has its funny moments too, mostly between Jason Bateman & Jude Law, their characters being brothers who both love & hate each other in equal measure, but are still loyal to each other, maybe Jude more than Jason though. Both actors are on top of their game here, supported by an excellent cast. Not sure if it's a deliberate easter egg, but the opening titles have animation giving little clues as to what will be in the episode. This was also done on Ozark which Jason Bateman was also in.

It is an 8-episode Limited Series, so a quick binge-watch. I definitely recommend it ( ignore the review from The Guardian online ).

Hi Folks

As we're heading into the cold and festive time of the year, are there any staples of content that you can recommend?

In saying that, we've still not finished watching MasterChef Austrailia, Brassic or Atomic from earlier in the year 😳

Thanks

I've just recently started rewatching Community as i hadn't seen it in a good few years and its recently popped up on Sky Comedy. Personally, i think its a highly under-rated show

Am enjoying the 2nd series of Landman.

Finding it as enjoyable as the first.

Do not watch much on BBC, but have so far enjoyed 'The War between the Land and the Sea'.
It's really only for older Dr Who fans, in my opinion. It drags a bit at points but has engaged me so far with the story to continue watching.
Despite though, very annoying music throughout mixed over action badly and very poor at times dialogue sound. Did have to watch with turning on subtitles at times.

A good film to watch near or over the Christmas days for one of those gathered with all the family

Jingle Bell Heist (2025) on Netflix.

Its one of those films you come away thinking, I really enjoyed it, so British, classic type comedy, well acted and well presented all over.

@KevNewMedia  If you like, you can merge the OP into the Must Watch TV thread, & then delete this one.

I asked for this to be merged into this thread, & I now see that, as I used the title of the show as my title header, it is missing from this post. So, to clear it up, the show I'm talking about is Black Rabbit.

I just watched this last night and was pleasantly surprised by it.

For other festive content, if there are any fans of the Mistletoe Murders crime mystery podcast series on Audible, ITV X have got the rights to the Hallmark TV show which covers the first 2 seasons.
