What channels come with Sky Essential TV

Please clarify for me  if you take Sky essentials which their Blurb  says  includes Sky Atlantic  do you HAVE to take Sky broadband as today i was told by Sky Cancellations that i can only have Sky essentials for £15 pm if i take their broadband  but i only just renewed my broadband 2 months ago on a 2 yr Fixed price  with my long term provider who again gave me a great deal 

cannot find anywhere that says i have to take Sky broadband to get Essentials package ?

thanks in anticiaption of your replies as today is final day to cancel contract that expires in September so looks like its byr bye Sky after 25 years  ( current contract is Signature package  but we are downsizing adn dealing with a reduced income now hence  was looking at Essentials )

That doesn't sound right to me. When they launched Essentials TV package the press release never stipulated that you needed Sky Broadband to get it for £15/month and it was a Sky TV specific offer ( and not one of those bundled deals of TV and Broadband together).

Sky Q Essentials does NOT come with Sky Atlantic. 

Sky Essential TV on Sky Stream DOES come with Sky Atlantic. 

You do NOT need Sky Broadband to get either package, you just need to speak to someone at Sky who understands the packages Sky offer and knows how to input the details into their overly complicated systems. 

If you are sticking with Sky Q and downgrading to Essentials then you will only get the free-to-air channels and the ability to record them on your Q box. The channel list is the same as Freesat. If you want Sky Atlantic then you'll need to switch to Sky Stream with Essential TV which is an entirely different, fully streamed service. You need fast and stable broadband for it to function but be aware that it is very different to Q.

Just to confuse things more, 'Sky Essentials' was the marketing name for a  broadband + television bundle (either ADSL or 35Mbs FTTC plus free to air satellite channels on a Sky+ or Sky Q box)

Strictly speaking, this means the call centre person was not entirely erroneous in claiming 'Sky Essentials' requires Sky Broadband.

 

Unfortunately both 'Sky Television Essentials' and 'Sky Essential TV' are not that particular product.

Thanks all  for the info  i assume that having 65mb broadband  part fibre will suffice for streaming  as sky were trying to get me to take their 55mb Part fibre as we are not full fibre here yet ?

Should be providing that's the speed you receive and not the advertised theoretical maximum speed you can get .......
