What channels come with Sky Essential TV

I am mostly talking about on demand options.

It wouldn't suprise me if there were impending changes to counteract HBO Max to maintain a competitive edge.

Which is perhaps why Sky Atlantic is in Sky Essentials along with Discovery pay channels and not Sky Showcase, Sky Witness, Sky Max, Sky Documentaries , Sky Crime, Sky Comedy , Sky History , National  Geographic and Alibi, 

For example The Last Of Us will be on both HBO Max app aswell on Sky itself , so won't be a subscription driver for Sky anymore, same with House Of The Dragon.

Sky Essentials is being described as 'taste of Sky' aswell,  they want people to upgrade,

So giving them a taster of episodes or old seasons may be a way to bring in more customers to watch the rest

I could see them doing it for Sky UK Originals but that's about it.

And if they put it under a peacock collection for sky/peacock originals or similar name that will also fit why some xumo UK channels are now available through Hisense and Samsung TVs for example, creating some sort of synergy.

Poker Face although on Peacock in the US is technically an acquisition from distributor Paramount Global Content Distribution, 

As Peacock doesn't exist outside the US, If a show isn't produced by NBC Universal, then  a 3rd party international distributor handles international sales whether that's Paramount , Sony, Fifth Season or A24

They tried ( and failed) to launch Peacock over here several years ago and slowly and quietly removed it, moving Peacock original shows that were available under Sky channel branding like Sky Max on-demand. it wouldn't really make any sense trying that again unless they went for a global roll-out of Peacock and really invested heavily in marketing. The Peacock brand just has absolutely no value outside the US and of course just because a show is a Peacock exclusive show in the US doesn't mean that in the UK Sky would be able to obtain the rights to the show.

That's fair enough, but the naming of both being similar is incredibly idiotic on Sky's part. It's like MTV in Finland;
There's MTV, the one that broadcasts around the world and previously was Music Television.
And the other MTV, now MTV3 from MTV Oy, the media company that broadcasts in Finland and Sweden.

It's just more confusing for everyone to have "Essentials TV" and "TV Essentials".

Or even make it clearer:

• Sky Q Essentials
