Watson grainy picture on glass / stream
Hey
I have just started watching Watson in UHD and wondering if any of you have watched it on Glass or stream and if the show looks really grainy on your sets. I tried watching in HD as well and still get a grainy screen. I'm wondering if the show was shot like this or it's a type of UHD glass can't display very well........ it's distracting to the point of spoiling the show for me

Re: Watson grainy picture on glass / stream
I actually think it's one of those shows that was mastered in HD, had a dodgy film grain filter put on it (badly) to make it look 'cool' and then was upscaled to UHD in order to sell it to other markets for the distributors to make more money. The problem is, the UHD upscale has only made the fake film grain look even worse. Add on the extra compression added when converting from 24 to 25 frames per second for the UK and it's basically a mess.
I wouldn't waste your time on it as the show itself is mediocre at best.

Good explanation ! I agree with you on both counts ...... it's looks like they were aiming for a styled look but unfortunately it's failed . Also I wasn't very impressed with the first two episodes
