Great more ads to skip through. Wish somebody else I purchased the rights as least we could watch ad free with an addon.

The best we get now is pay extra £5 to just fast forward. Unless you go with now tv for less ad free on there but not for us sky customers

Nice - i've been wondering where the new spin-offs would eventually end up in the UK, glad in a way one service has just snapped them all up.

Re: The Walking Dead Universe new home on Sky

Thank goodness TWD is back on Sky... I was absolutely gutted when Fox tv was pulled from Sky a few years ago & although I've seen TWD about 7 times, from seasons 1-10 & I've got the full box set of seasons 1-11 (although I've not watched them yet, as I didn't want to watch the 11th season, coz I didn't want it to end, just hoping upon hope that it would come back on our screens, via sky), as I don't want to stop having sky either, lots of reasons but mainly, tv is my life, I'm housebound disabled, it's my vehicle to the outside,...I go all over the world, without actually going anywhere, it's all I can do, so I would be lost without it & Sky TV).

There's nothing better when you can binge watch with ease... And I'm so excited about the TWD spin offs, as I thought I'd miss out on them with them not being on sky anymore... But Thankfully, Sky has come to its senses & brought it back to sky max...this news has made my year, honestly, I'm just so pleased... Thank you Sky...

I believe TWD was on AMC rather than Fox.

The broadcast Fox channel closed when Disney (which bought 20th Century Fox) moved all its products onto streaming.

You may be thinking of Fox News choosing to give up their UK broadcasting licence.

Re: The Walking Dead Universe new home on Sky

No he was right some years back now there was a fox channel on sky that's showed the walking dead then Disney+ come along and as they purchased fox network shows like TWD moved to Disney Plus because fox had a deal to show the TWD in place that meant it moved to Disney+ in the merger.

I know AMC make the TWD series and universe of shows but around the world the show as been sold to so many different networks and streamers. I am happy it's being shown in the UK I just we could still watch it ad free like when it was on Disney but on sky it will be full of ads that we with an add on can skip through.

Ah, yes, perhaps AMC was the distributor on BT TV.

Re: The Walking Dead Universe new home on Sky

Yes 👍 AMC was the distributor for the BTTV channel for a good few years I don't think it ever took off really due to limited reach at the time on BTTV they showed fear the walking dead I don't think the AMC channel on BTTV ever did get the walking dead.

Re: The Walking Dead Universe new home on Sky

Just a quick tip the walking dead is now on Sky stream available to watch but avoid it if you have better options its full of ads as sky force on us even when paying a premium as expected. So when you select the episode underneath its say play prime video, or Disney+ if you already have one of these services and are on an ad free plan pick one of these to enjoy the show. Shame on sky for not at least offering an ad free option.

The episodes are also sped up on Sky from 24 to 25fps. Disney+ shows them ad-free at the correct 24fps, so they are a bit longer in terms of duration.

NOW also shows the sped up versions but ad-free with Boost.

Re: The Walking Dead Universe new home on Sky

I'm really on the fence about stream with my contract ending in July there is just no way I'm gonna pay these prices for lesser quality and ads shoved in each episode on demand it should be an ad free plan just like all the others. It's only 4K football I'm staying for but I'm really considering leaving sky it's a lot of money which I don't mind but they quality of the service does not match up. I wish 4K premier league was available on Apple TV even through now TV.

Re: The Walking Dead Universe new home on Sky

If you download Sky Go (which still works after all these years) you should be able to watch them ad free. Hope that helps!

I am just starting out on the walking dead journey and plan to watch in chronological order, I note that TWD has seasons 1-5 before the season 1 of FWD

Do we know if sky has the rights to FWD? as it's not listed in op

I'm pretty sure Amazon still have the exclusive rights for the Fear the Walking Dead and Walking Dead: World Beyond spin offs
