Re: Tennis on sky in 24

@Cam4 Guess we might have thought the Sky tennis coverage was good if we had not had the 5 years much better coverage from Prime and currently Discovery+ for 2 of the GSs.

What a big disappointment it will be again in Aug for the Sky US Open coverage unless the new Sky Sports+ channel improves things, although there is nothing in the hype for this which suggests it will.

Tennis is unique amongst the sports in having so many matches in one event and with many being played concurrently.

Sky appear to have still not grasped the need for Replays of all matches, despite all the feedback through this forum and EMs from tennis fans to their Viewer Relations. None of the EMs I have sent Viewer Relations address this complaint - just say it is evolving.

If they do understand, as they surely must by now,  then they are resisting doing this for some reason which they are unwilling to explain - not good public relations.

They are back tomorrow with coverage so lets see if anything changes from some tournament in Netherlands. In the meantime I will be watching BBC coverage of Nottingham,Queens,Eastbourne and Wimbledon and hope the weather stays kind.

Re: Tennis on sky in 24

@Oddie2004 I am hoping that Sky will be showing, as well as Netherlands, some of the Stuttgart matches, since both Murray & Draper are playing there - they often seem to concentrate on tournaments and matches with Brits playing.

Re. Nottingham,  you say you will be watching on BBC - is that via iPlayer ? I am not seeing it scheduled on their terrestrial channels.

Edit: Yes  Just checked the tennis channel at 10.00am UK and they are showing the Draper match at Stuttgart.

Re: Tennis on sky in 24

@PhilHampson-Sky Raducanu and Cam Norrie also playing in Nottingham.

LTA has signed a deal with Tennis Channel for all grass tournaments until 2027 but of course available to us on BBC for free

Re: Tennis on sky in 24

@Oddie2004 Hope you were able to watch the end of the Norrie match on BBC - it seemed to stop in the middle for me.

However I was able to continue on Challenger TV - a quite useful backup to the BBC

So BBC have shelled out for the Nottingham rights. Each day BBC2 have repeats all afternoon. Why don't they broadcast the tennis on BBC2 instead? All the top British ladies are there!

@ChoochSiesta

That's a question to be directed at the Beeb.

Re: Tennis on sky in 24

@Oddie2004 Maybe the Norrie match was still in play yesterday at 8pm when the score  was 3-2 in Set 2.

That's when I lost it on BBC iPlayer. Just checked again and yesterday's recording is still there but stopping at that point.

On Challenger TV, which I went to after losing the match on IPlayer, I able to watch the match to the end.

Hey all,

I am locking this thread down as we gave the feedback to the Business about the Tennis coverage and we are conscious that problems with Tennis broadcasts getting missed in the big thread.

I would like to ask everyone to please use the Sky Q/Glass/Stream boards for reporting issues, depending on what platform you are experiencing the issue on.

Thank you for your understanding and for getting involved in our Sky Community. 🙂
