Sky says I have Discovery+ for free but I can’t get it.

I used to love Eurosport and considered cancelling my subscription.  Sky says I have Discovery+ for free but when I try to get it the App asked for a subscription.

Discovery+ is free BUT certain programmes from other channels streamed on Discovery channel require subscription. 

Example: Discovery plus is free but to watch Sky Sports Football need subscription

So it's a con.   I watch the cycling but now have to pay over £30 a MONTH to get it.

There are different tiers to Discovery +. 

Its the Basic tier which is included with Sky ( which doesn't include any of the premium sports content on Discovery +). In order to get the sporting content on Discovery + you need to have the Discovery + Premium tier. The premium tier is included if you subscribe to TNT Sports via Sky, or alternatively you can upgrade your Discovery + account directly to Premium.

Sky Sports Football and Discovery + are completely unrelated. The Discovery + premium tier included TNT Sports content and is available to view with a TNT Sports subscription, a Sky Sports subscription is completely different and separate from TNT Sports and Discovery +.

Correct as Warner Bros Discovery decided to close Eurosport and move all its content over to TNT Sports.

The writing has been on the wall for a lot of free sporting content for a while now, which sporting rights in general still increasing these broadcasters who purchase the rights find its hard to be able to turn a profit just with the dwindling advertising revenue they get.
