Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

I agree with previous comments about the appalling lack of coverage options. For added annoyance, tonight's night session match between Shelton & Tiafoe has been completely inaccessible ( constant errors on the NOW app on Fire tv, and not even any icon to access the match on my Android phone NOW app). The paltry selection of matches in the catch up section adds insult as it shows that their programming has the structures to provide on-demand content. Either they choose not to, or have some minimal licensing agreement which restricts what they can offer. Either way, Sky/NOW is charging us premium prices for a barebones service.

Hah!  I just wrote that before I read your post.  She just does not shut up and has the most annoying voice.

@Timothy

Amazon decided they did not wish to continue their agreement with USTA and consequently did not seek its renewal.

Perhaps worth noting that Prime is essentially a value-add on top of a global warehousing and goods delivery service rather than a dedicated streaming platform in its own right, so such decisions can appear arbitrary.

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

I had this reply:

"Good Afternoon,

Thank you for your email regarding Sky Sports coverage of the US Open.

I am sorry to read that you are unhappy with the coverage provided by Sky Sports and how it compares with other providers.

We are glad that you have taken the time to let us know, feedback – good and bad -  is always welcome as it helps us gauge what our viewers think about our content.

I have passed your comments on to the team at Sky Sports for their information and thank you once again for getting in touch."

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

So the mens' semi-finals don't start till 8pm UK time tomorrow, and so it will be middle of the night again before the second match.  I could cry!  I really want to see both matches and no way can I stay awake until 2 or 3am. 😭  Surely there's got to be a replay somewhere??

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

As if having no full replays available for any matches (honestly, just the night matches would have been something for UK viewers given the time difference), I've now found this morning that the EPG didn't get updated overnight to account for the extention of the Alcaraz v Medvedev match, so anyone who recorded that match would only have coverage until early in the 4th set. Unbelievably poor. I know for a fact it's someone's responsibility to update the EPG when necessary, and this is the first time I can recall it not being done for a Sky Sports event (it frequently used to happen to BT Sport programmes). I suggest playing it safe for the finals and set the next few programmes to record too just in case someone drops the ball again.

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

What's the EPG?  I tried to record this channel as I would any other channel but it didn't work.  Gutted there's no way to watch the Alcaraz/Meddy match. 😞

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

same thing happened to me..medvedev/alcaraz match did not complete so even in the dying days of their coverage of the US Open sky refuses to keep their eye on the ball..any complaints are still being met with a refusal to engage on the merits of our complaints and retreat into a bunker mentality,all is well ,take what we are giving you,trying to convince us that that is all we need,don't worry so much ,be happy..i'm still hoping that depite the bunker attitude they are working behind the scenes to make the next tournament right instead of the skyway or the highway mantra that we've suffered through the past 2 weeks..heres hoping but if not must be prepared to act

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

Would it be worth getting a VPN?  I guess you'd have to know which channels the matches were being shown on in the US?  Not sure it would work, but am desperate!

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

@Z0eR0bertsjust switched on to find the catch up of medvedev v Alcaraz...which we couldn't watch without pulling an all - nighter... only 6 minutes of 'highlights'  !!!!

When the Shelton v Djokovic match (which was at a time we could watch) is replayed in full 😭

@martin3

Re taking action; After my complaints were met with irrelevant responses I requested a refund and was told 'Sky won't offer a refund and that is all we have to say'.

will be reporting Sky to trading standards as the service is not fit for purpose.
