That may well be the case, but who cares?

Possibly because it means they can be entirely capricious in decision making and drop tennis entirely to pay for more prosthetic Elf ears?

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

I guess they can do that anyway. We are at their mercy. That shouldn't stop Sky giving us good tennis coverage - that they're asking us to pay for.

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

You don't want to try it in my position - Sky HD. No red button yet pay the same. All I see on 'the tennis channel' is FIVE female Brit hasbeens who barely won a match between them, standing round yakking, then the occasional women's tennis match on an outside court. Where are the men?? What happened to the male commentators? Tim Henman is wheeled out now and again as the token man but that's all. It's such a shame because before it went to Amazon, Sky's coverage was superb.

(removed)

Today, zero coverage of the (for us) overnight matches, just Draper rerun over and over and over. omg I am sooo glad I only signed up for a month. Unless you want to pay a fortune for this dross, UK tennis coverage has now gone back to pre satellite tv with 2 weeks at Wimbledon and that's that.

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

Is anyone else unhappy with Sky US Open coverage? It's shocking, yet again. After last year and all the complaints, why haven't they improved it? And now it's £35 plus £6 for the NOW subscription - much more expensive than last year and even worse coverage if that's possible. The majors are highlights during the year for us - to say it's disappointing is an understatement. Does anyone know the reason why they don't make all matches available on replay and swiftly ie the same day / overnight ?

yes its all very poor.

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

I disagree. I think the coverage is much improved this year especially with the Sky sports plus access which is much easier access for other courts. The only niggle for me now is to have replays to all matches available rather than just a selection. Especially when they are overnight or when I'm at work. But overall I think it's much better than last year. I like the presenters Gigi Salmon, Laura Robson, Naomi Cavaday and Naomi Broady are all good.

the womens commentary is mainly poor and really difficult to decipher. and very loud.

plus laura robson  makes snarky remarks about tim henman.  not good when you are part of a team.

Try the tv guide channel 407 rather than the catch-up section @tennisnut1

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

Hi ,

while some effort has been made since last year they seem reluctant to change the fundementals of their coverage..The US Open is 2 weeks and for the first week sky concentrate exclusively on british players in the top 100 no matter who else is playing. It a wierd kind of wish fulfillment exercise..they then drag in Annabel Croft Martina n and tim h to big up those players even though they well know those players are trying hard but are not capable of more then a first round/second round, a cruel kind of cannon fodder..It becomes a parochial, provincial broadcast that distorts the meritocracy of the game itself..we then have to go to bed for work or raising kids get up next day and hope to catch some overnights at 6 am or so only to find the same players matches are be repeated ad nauseum into infinity..meanwhile the rest of europe is watching Amazon and disney or espn in america and watch the matches they want to watch..i don't think they are listening though..and of course theres more

Re: Sky’s Disastrous US Open Tennis Coverage

I am dismayed that their coverage is getting worse by the day!  I remember last year they atleast always showed 3 full replays the following day ,  eagre though that is. Now they have COMPLETELY stopped covering the night matches for replay! It's absolutely disgraceful. I despise this company , I feel they are the worst broadcaster of tennis anywhere!

I thought it was better last year but then thought I must have imagined it!
