Yes does sound about right. Wondering if sky will close formula one race control on the red button?.

Annoyingly, for Sky +HD customers, some of those fixtures are shown as being exclusive to Sky Sports +, meaning that we can't watch them.
I get that Sky want us all on Sky Q (or Stream), but we will have gone from the heralded "watch every Super League this season on Sky Sports" to not being able to do so half way through the season.

The Red button on SKY Q used to just link to another Satellite feed but more and more has linked to internet based feeds like F! race control and in car cameras & more Vourt action on SKY Tennis etc
So the way I read it is that more sport will be available using existing features such as red button on SKY Q as well as being available on other devices through a revamped SKY Sports app.
Unfortunately this red button functionality launching apps/internet based content isn't available on SKY HD

@oj01 true, but to be fair to sky they are not completely denying Sky+HD customers access as these customers can still access SS+ content via the sky sports app for mobile albeit on a smaller screen to tv size screen
plus hopefully Sky +hd customers will still have access to the SS+ linear channel (although this cannot be confirmed for certain until the channel launches )

Yes, I'd forgotten about the linear channel. Fairly certain that Sky+HD boxes will receive this. Then, I suppose, it will depend on which sporting events are happening concurrently as to which will be shown on the channel.

I am quite surprised that sky didn't make a further announcement about their Sky sports + tv channel which they said that they are launching. What does everyone else think about sky sports main event channel?. Do you think that sky might rename that as sky sports +?.
26 Jun 2024 03:01 PM
Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Trips+out Afaik main event is staying there will be a separate linear channel for sports plus content
26 Jun 2024 03:04 PM
If sky sports + was going to be an separate linear channel would it have started testing by now?.
26 Jun 2024 03:14 PM
Hi sky community
someone that I was talking to about the sky sports + service said "If Sky Sports was set to launch a new channel it would have been testing since May. That why I says Sky Sports is set to rebrand their Main Event channel.
"I did not see a point on Main Event since it launch.
"It just live sports from other channels plus Sky Sports News.

SKY already have transponder/channels they use for 'floating' content e.g. Red button content
SKY may use these for the SKY Sports+ linear channel
I should also point out that other SKY Sports + content will also use the internet for more Red button content rather than Satellite capacity
