When does Sky Sports + become available, and on what channel number?

Many thanks indeed. Shame that Sky Sports + isn't going to be available in UHD.

I guess comes down to how much of the actual sporting content being shown would be available in UHD.

Hi sky community

no surprise here that sky sports + will simmercast Sky sports news from 6am on the 8th august.
followied by live EFL season launch at 6pm which is also broadcasting on sky sports ME channel and SS football as well. I do not understand why.

Likely because the purpose of the Sky Sports + linear channel is to show the "pick of the sporting action" available from the Sky sports + service. The Sky press releases state that the service is essentially kicking off with the new football league season with every game being broadcast on the new sky sports + service.
I'd imagine launching the new service during the Olympics probably isn't ideal for Sky, as there would generally be a lull in sporting events (e.g tennis, golf etc) that would be getting broadcast on the sky sports + service but they have to launch it at that time in order to broadcast the opening weekend on the football league.

Interesting that the new app is launching 2 days before the channel.

I have full Sky Sports package on my TV through the SKY box.
Is Sky Sports + supposed to magically appear as another channel?
If so, when?
Now 5th August and I would like to watch something on the 9th!

Taken me some time to find this but it would seem August 8th is the launch date.
Still no idea of the channel.

I dont understand the logic of this going on Now TV (the budget version of Sky) which is accessible on nearly every device....laptops, smart sticks, PS4-5/Xbox but the premuim subscribers on Sky can only access on a smart phone if their not using the main/mini box at home.
Surely this will be available on Sky Go or some other way?

I believe only the Sky Sports + linear channel will be available via Sky Go, the extra streamed matches/events are only available via the Sky Sports app.
