Sky Sci-Fi Haven't Broadcast The Final Episodes of THE WALKING DEAD!

Oh dear,

After following the entire run of THE WALKING DEAD on the Sky Sci-Fi channel from 6th January this year, to 9th September, broadcasting all 11 Seasons in order, five-nights-a-week, the Sky Sci-Fi channel have colossally messed up, by failing to broadcast the final four episosde (21, 22, 23 and 24) of Season 11. 😵

Why?

Did they not realise that Season 11 has 24 episodes?  Do they not care?  Is there a reason why they can't or won't be broadcasting these final four, after dililgently showing the entire 173 previous episodes?

Now, I know they are on catch-up, but that's not the issue.  Fans of any show, should not have to be treated like this, and be forced to access the final few episodes of a series elsewhere,[removed].  Come on, Sky, please do better than this!

Oh, and yes, I have sent an e-mail to Sky about this issue, and am awaiting a response... though I doubt they'll give me one or care that they've messed up again. 😭

Isn't catch-up/on demand how the vast majority of Sky's non-Sport content is watched now? The BARB ratings for Sky's linear entertainment channels are tiny compared to on demand viewing. I'm surprised people are still waiting for certain episodes to be shown on linear TV when they're available to watch whenever you like on demand.

Not sure why it's an issue to tell you the truth seeing as though Season 1 first aired on Channel 5 waaay back in  2010

Plus Season 1-11 was available on Sky/NOW TV On Demand  19th May 2024

Sorry but if you were a fan why wait 15 years to complain about four episodes which have actually been aired repeated  on Sky and available on Disney+.

Re: Sky Sci-Fi Haven't Broadcast The Final Episodes of THE WALKING DEAD!

Hi,

Sky's e-mail response was useless:

"Thank you for your email to Sky regarding The Walking Dead on Sky Sci-Fi.  I am sorry to read that our scheduling decisions have impacted your viewing enjoyment.  Your comments have been noted."

Xenon81 - Some of us still like to watch stuff, as-and-when it's broadcast, and not have to rely on on-demand/catch-up services where episodes/Seasons/shows can disappear.

best+of+the+best - It's an issue, because Sky Sci-Fi hasn't broadcast the entire show, when they've literally just spent five-nights-a-week, since early January broadcasting the entire series!  So, that's why it matters!  Sheesh!  What's the point of them broadcasting anything, if they aren't going to do it properly?  Secondly, Channel 5 didn't broadcast the entire show.  They only broadcast Seasons 1-3, and then it didn't do well enough for them, so they dropped the show from their schedules.  No other UK terrestrial broadcaster bought the rights, and it wasn't until Sky bought the rights in 2024, that one UK broadcaster has shown every episode in one place, all in one go.

I appreciate for many of you, catch-up/on-demand is your answer to everything, but some of us actually enjoy watching shows one or two episodes a week, at a time.  It's nice to enjoy a show over a period of weeks or months, rather than bingeing it.  Ultimately, none of that matters though.  Sky Sci-Fi shouldn't be failing like this, and not broadcasting the four final episodes without any valid reason.

Why broadcast a football match live, when you can just show the highlights?  In fact, why doesn't Sky Sports only show the first half of a match, and get everyone to watch the rest on catch-up instead?  Because if they did that, you sports fan would go apoplectic!  It's why you pay for the sports channels, right?  Well, I pay to receive Sky Sci-Fi, and I don't like wasting nine months, only to have the final four episodes fail to appear!  If I'd have known that, then I might well have not watched the show at all, or watched it on-demand only.

You may have no interest in this show, but when it happens to something you want to watch on Sky, then maybe you will care?!
