Sky Replay shutting down after 22 years on 30 October

Looks like another long-running Sky channel is about to disappear. 😕

According to The Sun, Sky Replay will officially close on 30 October 2025, ending over 22 years of broadcasting. The channel first launched back in 2002 as Sky One Mix, later became Sky Two, and finally Sky Replay.

Sky says the closure is part of their plan to streamline services as more people watch shows on demand instead of on linear “repeats” channels. Replay mainly aired reruns of shows from Sky Max, Sky Witness and others, stuff like A League of Their Own, Four Weddings, and SEAL Team.

The good news is the programmes themselves aren't disappearing, they'll still be available through Sky's on-demand platforms and apps. But the channel number will be gone, and there might be some reshuffling on the EPG once Replay is removed.

It's another sign of the times, more traditional channels being closed as streaming takes over.

I suspect Sky Sci-Fi (formerly Sci Fi Channel and Syfy) isn't far behind , it's just repeats of Star Trek and another Sky channel branded programming including older HBO shows they lose the rights to show on their channels entirely in the coming months.
