I had just started watching Silicon Valley on sky comedy box sets and without warning the whole box set disappeared! Will this be coming back?
And can I suggest that series that are about to go off have a warning that they're about to disappear? Otherwise I wouldn't have started investing in the series from the start 2 days before it was deleted...

There is a warning, if you have a Sky+ you can see the actual date and if it is a Sky Q one then you get a 30 day countdown:

It's annoying isn't it?
Silicon Valley season 1 is now available to buy on Sky Store for the bargain price of £18.99! (Which is at least a pound more than every other streaming service you can purchase it from.)
Shame you missed it - it's a great show.
It can often happen that Sky will negotiate another broadcast of a series at some other point in the future. When this happens it'll usually be available to download on demand again, without having to pay for it.

Hi,
I do appreciate this, and will look out for it now in future. Although, I do have to say I certainly didn't notice it.
And there could be lots of ways to make this more apparent to customers, including:
Having an obvious pop up appear when a customer downloads an episode of a series or a film with less than a week of air time remaining to warn them that it's soon to be deleted. E.g. 'Please be aware you only have x amount of days to watch this'.
And/or a feature to turn red the text of a recording in the 'my recordings' section which is soon to expire.
This wouldn't necessarily put off customers from watching series/films which are soon to expire, but would instead empower them to either pick another equally good series to start watching (without the disappointment of being cut off a few episodes in). Or to commit to binge watching a certain amount of episodes before the series disappears.
Echoing Ross from F.R.I.E.N.D.S - 'Well they should put it in huge black letters!'

Excellent suggestions. Can you go and work for Sky please? They need a very large dose of logic and common sense injected into many parts of their service. 😁

@Emma+Naylor If you use Sky Q, you can see the expiration date of content from On Demand by using the Sky+ app on your phone. You look up the program and you can see when it expires. But if you are watching a multi-season program, look at each season as they can be different expiration dates.
Another thing is if you have Sky Go on your computer (Windows or OS X), you can view your recordings on the box to see when they expire.
Sometimes downloaded programs expire sometime after it does on On Demand and sometimes downloads do not expire. So if you don't see an expiration date in Sky Go, it isn't going to expire. This way you'll know if you need to download and how to watch so you'll not have it expire on you.

Nope, that is not the case using MacOS unless you have a multiscreen/multiroom subscription!
Without it, you only see the expiry date within the 30 days.

And not just with a Mac either as it doesn't matter what you are running Sky Go on you have to have a multiscreen subscription.

I very rarely use Sky Go though.

If you are a VIP member, you can get Sky Go Extra free. You don't need multiscreen.

The above is true and as a Sky Go Extra user myself, still doesn't show expiry dates when using on a Mac as @GuybrushThreepw mentioned.

The use of Sky Go/Extra isn't in question, the expiry dates do not show as you claimed.

Sky Go Windows
Sky Go OS X
If you don't see an expiration date, that's because there is not one. Not all downloads have an expiration date.

We have been here before with this one.
Sky Go shows some expiry dates but not all, so its not a reliable lookup tool.
The best ploy is to use the Sky+ app or download and do a quick binge watch.
Another reliable source if you have access to it is Sky Now TV, it shows all the expiry dates.
