As promised I can report back my quitting process went very quickly. A pleasant lady took my details and went through the process. She did try and attempt to offer me deals but I made it plain I was leaving. No putting me on hold or dropped calls. Call lasted 22 minutes. I don't have sky broadband so that made things easier. 
They will send a box for the sky q box for me to return.

Excellent well done I only wish I had the same experience I suppose it's the luck of the draw. And that's what I should have done from the very outset made it very clear I wanted no offers to stay and please don't cut me off mid call, But I never thought for one minute my experience would be so horrendous just because I wanted to leave a company.  It's an experience I certainly won't forget.
