Re: Sheer amount of rubbish channels on Sky

You just said it yourself since Comcast took over they have invested in a FEW sky original programs over 5 YEARS and that with the best will in the world that a guess, But you can have all the fancy studios in the world but the fact of the matter is a few sky originals is hardly going to bring more subscribers in.  As I have said all these sky channels does not mean quality programming in fact quite the opposite it dilutes the product dramatically to the point of showing third rate rubbish on most of there so called flag ship channels to fill in there allotted programming for the day and week.

One person's 'rubbish' is another person's treasure. You're entitled to your opinion, of course, but it's not the only valid opinion, except to you..

If there was treasure on sky I would not be in such a rush to get rid of this junk they call believe in better. Believe in third rate programs more like. And lots of repeated programs for your money each month. I won't make the same mistake again with this company 😕

I agree. Sadly it's the nanny state we live in. We have to be protected from ourselves.....

Re: Sheer amount of rubbish channels on Sky

I got ropped in with a deal I can't blame anyone but myself. But I have learnt one thing it WONT happen again! While my subscription went up in April sadly the quality of shockingly poor programs has deteriorated to such a level I now no longer look at sky even though I have this junk until next April 😡 The latest thing I have seen is the rebranding of the UK channels to my way of thinking would it not be better to put better programmes on Thea's channels instead of giving them ridiculous names. But as I say sky channels are now awash with repeats adverts and cheap third rate American rubbish of car boot standard. I really should have looked on trustpiolet on sky reviews before I handed my details over to this company. Comcast Believe in charging you more for a product not fit for purpose. Roll on April I can't wait to be rid of this rubbish it's an insult to my intelligence. 😡

The uktv channels are not owned or controlled by sky, they are owned by bbc studios.

Sky have no input into what they show.

You do know that every channel on the Sky platform is not a Sky channel?  Generally the channels branded as Sky are Sky owned/part owned, the 100's of other channels are all independent of Sky.

Sky can't dictate to those channels what they do or don't show.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

Re: Sheer amount of rubbish channels on Sky

Indeed I do know that not every channel is not a sky channel but I am directly aiming the pure garbage tirade that's shown on the SKY channels at sky itself. I fully expected sky fans to stick up for sky nothing knew in that. But sky channels are what they are full of junk and third rate rubbish. And people are paying crazy prices to look at this garbage sky must be laughing there heads off at what people want to pay for it's unbelievable 😁

This is a very valid point that so many people miss. The vast majority of channels are not owned by Sky just use the delivery platform. Some of these like Rewind and the That's channels have promise but the picture quality is so poor.

However I would say the quality of shows on the atual sky chanels is progressively getting worse, their new shows don't really appeal to me. And there is a huge amount of repeats banded across channels. I would say if it wasn't for the F1 my subscription would be binned in January, i could live with Netflix for newer shows and ITVx Premium for nostalgia.

While the options on the linear sky cinema channels can be a bit repetitive, on demand choice of films for sky cinema is  over 1000 movies

If a broadcast film carries a BBFC classification of 12 or above, no matter how long ago it was certified, then Mandatory Daytime Protection has to apply unless the channel chooses to show an edited version which has been cut to remove whatever elements caused it to receive a higher certificate.

This regulation doesn't apply to streaming services because those didn't exist when the legislation underlying the Broadcasting Code was last formulated over two decades ago.

Re: Sheer amount of rubbish channels on Sky

I finally put my 31 days notice in on Monday and they never charged me any penalty leaving fee as my contract wasn't due to finish untill the 2nd of may next year. I have a Sky+hd works perfect with sports and signature packs. I had noticed on my future bills had risen by £7.50 a month and thought that's a bit much. When I phoned sky C/S on Monday and asked why it had risen so much she told me it's a price increase on your package, I thought this is a perfect opportunity to finally rid my self of this unscrupulous company. So I said to the operative but I thought all bills went up in April ? She replied they did but yours never. I asked her am I in contact she replied no, So I said great is there and penalty leaving fee ? She again so no. So I said I will give my 31 days notice now as I have had enough of sky and its poor programing, She replied by trying to offer me a new 24 month deal,  ( my deal i was was 18 months) I said you must be joking I have just given you my 31 days notice and your still trying to  offer me a deal? I don't want it I replied. Enough is enough I am so happy to be getting rid of this company NEVER again.
