You previously mentioned it was a "Sky+" box and not specifically a Sky+HD box. Sky+ boxes are predecessors to Sky+HD boxes, so I just wanted to be sure.

@Danny8282

Please note the response from sky I got today

Graham,

Thank you very much for taking some time to contact us and highlighting this issue with the Paramount+ show 'Quantum Leap'.

This is a weekly episode and not a complete Box set, so episode 17 is due to be added today. Episode 14 is missing and we are now chasing the provider to deliver both episodes. These should be available as soon as possible.

I hope that helps and thanks again for getting in touch with us.

Best Wishes,

Chris

Re: Quantum leap paramount plus on sky

I have been subscribing to Paramount plus for two months. Quantum Leap was included, one of the reasons for signing up. Now part way through the series it states I have to buy the series or each of the episodes? This is the only series that states this all the others in my watch list are still included as part of the subscription rate. What’s going on?

Re: Quantum leap paramount plus on sky

It's been removed as part of cost-cutting by Paramount Global, UK/International Originals - The Burning Girls, The Serial Killer’s Wife, No Escape, One Night, The Killing Kind ,The Chemistry of Death The Doll Factory along with Accused have been removed aswell, some of this content still plays via Sky Q section although probably not for much longer

Looks they aren’t producing International Originals for Paramount+ anymore only their FTA networks in Australia, Argentina, Chile and the UK,

Whether NBC Universal now just decide to license Quantum Leap to Sky instead is anyone guess.

We all know that Paramount are targetting a sale or merger and extreme, rapid cost cutting is all a precursor to this activity.

Its possible, depending on how long it takes for Paramount to have its futured decided, that these shows eventually return, but as others suggested they would likely look to resell the rights to other broadcasters and on-demand services to bring in some extra cash. Likely all depends on who is interested in Paramount and how long this all takes. Some perspectives new owners may prefer the idea of keeping these shows rights themselves so they can reappear on their own streaming platform to increase its value.

Re: Quantum leap paramount plus on sky

Yes some of the affected content is expected to be distributed by Paramount Global Distribution,

In Quantum Leap case though it isn't a Paramount owned title, it's distributed by NBC Universal Internationally so I don't see it returning to Paramount+

The paramount plus cull of content seems odd, to me (just my opinion) they weren't overflowing with choice content as it was. A 1/3rd of my watch list vanished with the purge (leaving 8 items left)

Even the list of content coming for February 2024 felt very bare (before you assume removing quantum leap s2a)

Paramount plus would know what people are watching on it and not watching (South park, star trek, and taylor Sheridan content probably)

Oh well, at least corporate survived

Re: Quantum leap paramount plus on sky

Paramount had the rights to season 1 of Quantum leap season 1 until July 2026 aswell.

Sky could see a opportunity to pick it up along with Dr Death which is still on Lionsgate+ until it closes they need all the new content they can get nowadays see Chicago PD , New Amsterdam, & Bel Air (Peacock was dead at this point) moving to first run on Sky channels.

It would depend as First season of Dr. Death was also broadcasted on Channel 4

Re: Quantum leap paramount plus on sky

I was really disappointed with this.

I only just began watched season 1 and was five episodes behind n when it was removed.

I emailed Paramount+ to ask what happened and I got this response back:

"Thank you for contacting Paramount+. At this time, we don't have any details on if or when this content should be available."

Which is clearly lies.

Thar was 2nd run through and looks like it was only limited 30-45 day catch up rights.
