Posted by a Sky employeeHey all,
I am afraid that Fringe is no longer available on Boxsets which is due to the license expired on 30th November 2023.
At this time we have no future date on when this may become available again.
Thank you for your understanding.

There should be some warning about this type of thing. Netflix do it, why not Sky?! One more black mark!
Just got the box set on DVD .

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhen I had Sky +, it was possibly to see when the programme was expiring from ondemand by pressing the information button, as usually it said the expiry at the bottom of the information text.
you would think it couldn't be too hard to add that info in for glass/stream customers

Noooo. I just got to Series 5 Episode 2. (removed) no auto downloading of the next episode.
If I'd have known in advance I could have downloaded it to watch later. 😞
There is a lack of communication somewhere along the line to the customer.

I've seen this on some films on Sky Cinema, i've seen this on some on-demand TV boxsets but it does seem to be a bit inconsistent.

Easy just put a banner across the the top of said programme saying will end on *****. Netflix do it with a banner saying ending soon and later with a date.

Just thinking about it, an expiring soon section on the on-demand content could be useful. Amazon do something similar and its useful to then know if there is a film or show you wanted to watch that you need to do it within the next 30 days before it goes.

In this case for me anyway it would'nt have been much help. Just becuse I was only on season 2 and their are five of them. Just got the DVD's very cheap on a well know seller of those type of things. Having said that a warning would have been helpful!

Just a quick note to those saying it's not possible for sky to inform customers.
This is the digital age, and sky can always find out what is expiring, and put an "expiry date" when users download content for streaming. An easy addition to the episode blurb. This would be easy for skilled programmers.

Does Sky Glass/Sky Stream not have 30 day warning like Sky Q ? (further away dates can he found on Sky+ app) ?
For example Both seasons of Prodigal Son leave Sky on 27th July and there is warning on Sky Q available until 27th July, the 2nd season of that was changed from June 2025 to 27th July this year in the last week, it's also another Warner Bros Discovery property...

It does but it seems to vary depending on content.
For example i've seen films from IPlayer and ITV X, where on the film's programme page within the Sky UI it says Available Until X underneath the description. I've also seen it appear on proper cloud recordings, in situations where Sky have the rights to cloud record but only to keep the recording for a limited time.
