Peacock App- is it being phased out? What will be the replacement?

As I and others have noticed the peacock library is slowly decreasing and there isn't much shows there now. Does anyone know if it will be replaced or updated?

Hayu is fee paying so it will just be an additional paid add on service?

They could in theory be included with Sky at no extra cost , have a main separate visible tab under On Demand integrated into Sky like Peacock had before it was removed.

I don't expect any replacement.

My guess (your guess is as good as mine) is that like with "killing it" being sold to e4, comcast/nbc will try to sell the content onto broadcasters or streaming services

In comcast results, Hollywood reporter reported

  • NBCU’s media unit results included $506 million of revenue and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $614 million related to Peacock. That compared to $230 million of revenue and an adjusted EBITDA loss of $520 million related to the streamer in the prior-year period.

This would be American operation so with losses like that, giving away peacock's own productions to a largely missed and ignored feature might not be the most financially viable option.

If sky/comcast/nbc opportunity cost to having it on sky max/crime/witness/Atlantic is higher or lower than selling to other broadcaster or VoD then I think they'll look at that.

Also there may be cost to having stuff available on VoD, bases on residual agreements with the writers, producers, stars etc (depending on the contracts/agreements) so if this applies, it could be a factor in removing content, particularly if no one/very few was watching it.

Have I made any coherent point?
