Pairing TNT-sports with DiscoveryPlus premium

Have a TNT package after Eurosport ceased in UK.  Watching TNT sports, have pressed red button for more matches.  Clicked on matches, but screen says,  'need TNT sports to access Discovery plus' which we have and is up and running.  TNT sports package also guaranteed to pair up with Discovery plus Premium as we were assured by Sky operator.  After nearly an hour on a call and 2 operators, the issue was not solved we still cannot get Discovery plus premium through TNT or the Discovery plus App. A box has been disconnected, reconnected, Apps refreshed, settings reset, the works and it's still not happening!
hopefully someone can help.??

That does sound incredibly frustrating — especially after being reassured everything would work and spending so long on the phone. From what you’ve described, it sounds like a linking issue between your Sky account and Discovery+ Premium, which is required for the TNT Sports access via the Discovery+ app and Red Button.

Here are a few things worth double-checking or trying:

  1. Link Your Sky Account to Discovery+ Manually
Even if you’ve already done it (or thought it was done automatically), go to:
    www.discoveryplus.com/link
Log in, and when prompted, choose Sky as your provider, then follow the linking process again. Sometimes it doesn’t "take" properly the first time, and re-linking manually has solved it for others.
  2. Check You’re Logged In to the Correct Discovery+ Account
It’s easy to accidentally log into a Discovery+ free/basic account (which doesn’t include TNT Sports). Make sure the email used on the Discovery+ app is the same one that was linked to your Sky account, and that you see Discovery+ Premium listed under your subscription settings.
  3.  Use the Discovery+ App, Not Red Button Initially
Sometimes the Red Button path doesn’t authenticate correctly if Discovery+ isn’t fully activated. Try this order instead:
    • Open the Discovery+ app on your Sky box or a streaming device (e.g. Fire Stick, Smart TV).
    • Try watching a TNT Sports stream directly through there first — if that works, the Red Button might then also behave correctly next time.
  4. Wait 24 Hours After Changes

If your box has just been refreshed or Discovery+ re-linked, it can take up to a day for the entitlements to sync fully with your account — annoying, but worth bearing in mind.

If it still doesn’t work after all of that, it really is down to Sky needing to escalate it internally to make sure your TNT Sports subscription is correctly flagged on their backend for Discovery+ Premium access. Ask them to raise a ticket specifically for "Discovery+ Premium not activating despite eligible TNT Sports subscription" — that often gets it passed to the right tech team.

Hope something here helps get you sorted! Let us know how you get on.
