Why is Sky no longer displaying movies User ratings ? You can no longer tell if a film is a decent quality movie now? This is a must have for me.

Agreed, but it is a consensus of the general opinion of the nation which gives a reasonably good judgement of the quality of the film. The same as rotten tomatoes. If the film has a one star rating compared to a 5 star rating then 'generally' it tends to be a poor quality film. With out a ratings guide people will just use word of mouth and only the well known films will tend to be viewed by the masses..

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreWhy not search on IMDB etc... for ratings on-line?

A very time consuming process when your just browsing for a decent movie. The question is why have they removed them thus creating another task for the user to decide on a film. Surely it would be better if some users don't like them to have a toggle switch or similar rather than removing them all together.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreUsually I just Google the film to see the ratings.
Sky had used imdb as ratings and sometimes, a film with very few ratings could be 5 stars but that could be 12 people who worked on it.
There was a sky store thread a few months ago of a person demanding a refund for a film like that.
I prefer rotten tomatoes but always worthwhile to check how many people rated it.

Agreed, Rotten Tomatoes generally would be the prefered reference.. hopefully they hook in another third party such a Rotten Tomatoes etc going forwards. I for one will not purchase any movies unless I know it has a few decent reviews so having a link to the review page or at a minimum the star rating is just basic functionality that you would expect from SkY. Removing it without notifying the user base is a bit of a strange strategy. Just makes the user experience worse and adds extra inconvenience to the process.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI don't bother with ratings as they are all subjective, "one mans meat is another mans poison" etc...
You can use a home assistant like Amazon Alexa to easily get a movies rating so it not that time consuming 🙂

That's a good suggestion! Thank you. I shall suggest that to the wife!
Still would be better just to include the information in the tool set provided by SkY rather than using one of their competitors tools but I guess that is Sky's prerogative.

The star ratings are working again now. Also, the ratings have always been from Rotten Tomatoes, not IMDB as mentioned earlier.

I mentioned IMDB as an alternative as it does not matter where the ratings come from they are only someone elses opinion

This was example earlier I cited
https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/Sky-Store/Rating-Sky-Films/m-p/4469257
Current critic rating on rotten tomatoes - none yet
Current audience rating on rotten tomatoes - 73%
However going by date of ratings, it had none at time this customer bought it (they were the first to rate it on rotten tomatoes). Suspiciously the 5 people who gave it 5/5 all have only reviewed 1 film.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out moreI stand corrected.
With the ratings, it states on sky q as "Audience score provided by Rotten Tomatoes" in the rating section
My advice would be don't just rely on the rating sky give.
