MTV Music Channels to close

I totally agree but unfortunately the decision to close these channels is nothing to do with sky mtv have decided to close the channels down

Well its hardly surprising seeing how once the Skydance merger with Paramount went through one of the first things they did was completely ditch MTV's UK production arm. New owners will only look at profitability and so services like music channels, which aren't making money, will be the first to go.

This type of thing will only happen more, as these big media broadcast companies continue to merge together and then decrease their overall channel lineup.

I was amazed by the merger between Paramount and Skydance, which led to the closure of MTV's music channels, which will occur at the end of December 2025

I saw the report recently that all the MTV Channels apart from MTV HD are to close. i remember when MTV Europe launched & it was a great channel but i feel the channels got poor in the 90s

Is it the same for other channels as my TLC disappeared for a while too but now its back but Comedy Centre, Comedy Central +1 and Comedy Extra are all gone same time as MTV channels

TLC is going free to air in January ahead of HBO Max launch with HGTV shutting down, not sure about the future of ID as linear brand either when new ID programming from the US is premiering on free to air Quest Red instead.

Nothing has been announced about Comedy Central , Sky has 25% stake in them in the UK so maybe more complicated.

It sounds like you have a dish alignment problem if you're losing channels. All the channels you mention are broadcasting as normal so you shouldn't be having problems with any of them.
