@MARKIE52

As previously stated the rules governing amount/length of adverts hasn't changed and they still need to comply.

There are no more adverts now then what there were when Jeff was presenting as Sky would get in trouble with the media regulator if that was the case.

Re: Gillette Soccer Saturday

@caesarome with respect,I totally disagree.

There is now a commercial about every ten minutes,which does nothing for audience immersion,or recovering gambling addicts,whereby Sky show one advert from Bet 365,then return to the program.

And then Simon or Julian are forced into errors,because the vidi printer has gone into overdrive,during the commercial break.

Soon because Sky are down to there last £100 trillion pounds,they'll be forced into showing commercials during live football matches,to make ends meet 😛

There have been no more ad breaks this year than previous years.

Sky is just as subject to Ofcom regulation on advertising length and frequency as any other regulated platform.

Comcast might be tempted to try that: Sky Group hasn't been an outstanding acquisition so far.  Hopefully someone will be available to explain the difference between American and Association football to the folks in Philadelphia.

@DorsetJon

I'd also note there isn't actually anything forbidding ad breaks in live soccer: it just hasn't been done by tradition and because the nature of the game means it would be tricky to insert breaks without overlapping with on-field action.

Mind you, it can take a really long time to get a VAR decision....

Re: Gillette Soccer Saturday

Of course Comcast own the Premier League rights in the US [they show games on NBC, The USA Network, and Peacock] and they don't show adverts during the game there. If they don't in the US on what for them is a minority interest, they won't over here.
