For the sake of an s

In reference to the screenshot below, is this a little-known prequel to the classic 1950s sci-fi film, Invasion Of The Body Snatchers? Was it made to see if audiences would be interested in multiple snatchers? What else can we expect to see in the coming weeks?

  Gremlin

  Ghostbuster

  The Lord Of The Ring

  The Day Of The Triffid

  Reservoir Dog

  The Producer

  The Blues Brother

Perhaps we will have Alien, and the following week, Alien.

Okay, enough of my facetiousness, but c'mon, could they really not have added the extra s to complete the title of the film? And they did it twice. There is plenty of space there to do so.

Re: For the sake of an s

It's correct on Sky Go and the online EPG: https://www.sky.com/tv-guide/20250417/4101-1/130/Efdf-7e8

Maybe the title is too long for the on screen guide. I know there is a character limit meaning long titles sometimes have to be split into the synopsis like "New: Invasion Of The Body..." "...Snatchers. New. A small-town doctor etc etc....".

In which case I would say they should remove the prefix, " New ". I realise it is new to Sky Arts, but the film itself isn't exactly new. If they had done that, they would have had enough space for the missing s.

@xenon81  In reference to your edit. I saw a programme listed a couple of weeks ago as " New: ( A person's name which I can't recall ) The Man Who " and that was it, no more info in the title or the synopsis, which left me wondering two things, what was it the man had done, and how do I know if I would be interested in watching it. It's ridiculous to have a character limit when the space is available.

Re: For the sake of an s

Here's another example, this time from the online EPG. On the Hobbit film entry, look how much space is left free, and all that is needed to be added are the words " five armies ". There's almost enough room left to include the titles of the other two Hobbit films. Surely they could have fitted the whole title in that space, as the complete title has 30 letters in it, and New Invasion Of The Body Snatchers has 29 letters.
