I was looking forward to catching up on some of the races I missed during the off-season and now I can't.
The first race of the next season is 14 March so there's plenty of time to catch up after the channel reverts back on 5 January.

First thing when go to sports>>f1 is 'the story of 2024'
When going into each race, there does seem to be a good bit of on demand, for example
Sky sports mix also have some highlights on their linear schedule this week.

From what I can Sky are in contract until at least 2029 with F1.
For each race in the season, including practice and qualifying, yes, but that doesn't necessarily mean year-round rights to product which ultimately belongs to Formula One Group, a division of Liberty Media.

I chose SKY TV purely for F1 !!!!!
I don't watch any other sport AT ALL !!!!!!
SO WHAT AM I PAYING FOR.
SKY F1 NEEDS A SHAKE DOWN !!!! THERE HAVE BEEN 1125 RACES SINCE 1950. MOST FILMED. WHY DONT YOU FILL IN TIME WITH THESE RACES RATHER THAN SHOWING THE SAME STUPID 10 MINITE SHOW OVER AND OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN !!!
AND WHILE IM HERE. MOST, YESY MOST F1 FANS WHO WATCH THE PROGRAMME WOULD LOVE TO HEAR THE CARS NOW AND THEN . OR MORE RATHER THAN THAT IDIOT YOU PAY WHO JUST LOVES HIS OWN VOICE !!! CROSSY ??,,,
SILVERSTONE 2024. LAST LAPS
" AND JUST LISTEN TO THAT CROWD CHEERING FOR HAMILTON "
WE'D LOVE TO. BUT NEVER CAN COS HE JUST WONT SHUT UP !!!! SACK HIM!!!! AND THE LOND PRESENTER BLOKE. LADIES ALL GIOD. DAVIDSON, CHANDOK, BRUNDLE ALL GOOD.
QE ARE PREDOMINANTLY BRITISH WATCHING.. SO TELL CROSSY TO KEEP HIS LOVE FOR VERSTAPPEN TO A MINIMUM. ITS DISGRACEFUL HIS ENTHUSIASM AND FAVOURITISM TOWARD VERSTAPPEN.
ITHER THAT THAT... GREAT SHOW. SOD TGE DARTS. SHOW TGE RACES OR FIND AN F1 PRODUCERS THAT ACTUALLY LIKES F1

I'd hazard that a guess that perhaps Sky's F1 contract doesn't necessary give them the broadcast rights to show all full historical races
QE ARE PREDOMINANTLY BRITISH WATCHING..
Sky's coverage is broadcast to numerous other English speaking countries and not just the UK and Ireland.
FIND AN F1 PRODUCERS THAT ACTUALLY LIKES F1
Sky have the F1 broadcast rights until the end of the 2029 so that isn't happening.

I received this reply from viewer relations this morning:
"Thank you for your email to Sky regarding the F1 channel 406 being changed to Sky Darts.
Viewers were sent an email regarding this temporary change.
From Friday 13th December, SS F1 will be the home of Darts (for the PDC World Darts Championships - starts 15th December 2024 until the final on 3rd January 2025).
Meantime, SS Mix (Channel 416) will be showing some F1 programming during the period and there is always F1 content via our On Demand service.
This happens every December and usually, we rebrand either SS Action or SS Arena, however, these channels are no longer available.
We are using SS F1 (Channel 406) as the current season finished on 8th December, so viewers will not miss any live F1 coverage until the new F1 season starts in March 2025.
I am sorry this is not the outcome you were looking for. This was a business decision.
I really appreciate you sharing your feedback with us and I've taken your points on board. I will pass on your comments to our Sky Sports team for their awareness.
We do appreciate you getting in touch and once again would like to thank you for taking the time to contact us. "
I checked my inbox and junk folder and the only recent email I received was about the Sky Sports+ launch in August.
Can anybody else recall the F1 channels being replaced with Sky Sports Action or Arena in previous off-seasons?
I called customer service and cancelled my Sky Sports subscription. Does anybody know who will be carrying live coverage of F1, Indycar, etc next year?

@Daban+Urnud in relation to your other question, the email doesn't state about the F1 channel being rebranded as Action or Arena. In the past Sky Sports Action or Arena were the Sky Sports channels that were rebranded as Sky Sports Darts for 3 weeks over the christmas period.
Neither Sky Sport Action or Arena exist as channels, as one of them got permanently rebranded as Sky Sports + and the other is currently the Sky Sports NFL channel. The F1 channel is the only logical channel for Sky to rebrand as its the only specific sport branded channel that has no new content over the next 4 weeks due to the season ending.

Ok now I'm really confused. Sky have rights to F1 until 2029 but they've stopped showing it this year?
Will there be a new F1 channel next year? Why didn't viewers relations or customer service mention this when I cancelled?

They have done.
The comms from Sky seem clear to me - its a temporary change for 3-4 weeks whilst the World Darts Championship is on. All the F1 content is still available on demand and the channel will be back as normal in early January.

It'll be the same channel. As stated already the F1 channel has been temporarily rebranded as Darts and will change back on January 6th 2025.

Nothing I have been told by customer service or viewer relations led me to believe that this was a temporary measure.
If that was the case why didn't they let me cancel when I am under contract until next October?

No one can tell you why someone did or didin't say whatever, sadly mindreading isn't a strong point on the community.

My post (post 6) from 11/12/24 provides the link to the Community news article clearly stating it's a temporary rebrand.
