I'm not happy about the F1 channel changing to darts. I don't pay to watch darts I pay to watch F1 related things. Can I pause this so I don't have to pay to watch darts when I don't want to?

Pausing your contract isn't an option Sky provides.

There wouldn't be any new F1 related content produced over the winter break, so you're not missing anything new. If you're desperate to watch reruns of old content, then it should be available on demand anyway.

I'm with the OP here... I pay for 12 months of Sky F1 but they're only giving me 11 months. Oh and now I get Sky Darts "at no extra cost" (their words in the notification email I received). Sure, there's not a lot on F1 at this time of year but that's not the point. I'm still paying for a month of darts that I haven't asked for, haven't agreed to and I'm not going to watch. I don't subscribe to any other Sky Sports channels, only F1. Surely that's a breach of contract? There must be some other motorsport around the world going on they could show instead?

Only if you can find a provision within your Sky contract that guarantees the content year round.

@Jon+H. That would also mean Sky would need the rights to show other motor sport which would be additional costs

I'm looking to leave sky as it's costing me £100 a month for broadband and F1. I don't watch anything else on sky but the F1 so looking at getting cheap broadband and Now TV sports, has anyone else done this? If not I may just go back to channel 4 for catch up as during the Summer I'm often doing other stuff and don't see it live anyway. Anyone found a better way?

If its just F1 you watch then Now TV would be a good option for you. A Now TV sports membership costs £29.99/month, often discounted. You should be able to find an average speed broadband package for less than £30/month so overall your saving a lot compared to what you are paying now.

Why have Sky replaced their F1 channels with crap like darts? The only reason I subscribe to sky sports is for the F1 channels. I was looking forward to catching up on some of the races I missed during the off-season and now I can't.
I don't even have the option to cancel my sky sports subscription as it's under contract for nearly another year.
If I had been given any prior warning that they were dropping their F1/F2/F3/IndyGTWCE coverage after this year I never would have renewed.

I only subscribe to Sky sports F1 and phoned them up today because I don't watch darts and my husband watches F1 even out of season and wanted some sort of compensation for this. I was told that "as of yesterday we are not in contract with F1 anymore" and implied F1 wont be be coming back to Sky. I informed him that doesnt make sense as the email I received states it would revert back to F1 channel on 6 January 2025. Has anyone heard this? From what I can Sky are in contract until at least 2029 with F1.

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Jon+H. You pay your TV subscription on a monthly basis, nowhere in your contract does it explicitly state you will get F1 coverage 24/7 365 days a year.
There is no breach of contract as Sky will have ensured changes like this are covered in the contract. Which allows for channel line up and program changes. Before citing breach of contract you need to read it in the 1st place.
Sky are owned by a multi billion dollar company and you can bet their legal teams have this covered.
